All-New 2016 Kia Sorento 'Top Safety Pick'

The all-new 2016 Kia Sorento has been awarded a ‘Top Safety Pick’ by the USA’s Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The award adds to the Sorento’s maximum five-star crash safety rating issued by Euro NCAP.

The Sorento qualified for this award after receiving a ‘Good’ rating in every one of the IIHS’s demanding tests. Kia attributes the award to the Sorento’s even stronger body shell and passive and active safety equipment such as, a bodyshell consisting of 52.7% ultra-high tensile steel (UHTS), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electric Stability Control (ESC), Adaptive Smart Cruise Control (ASCC), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Blind-Spot Detection (BSD), Rear-Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Speed Limit Information Function (SLIF).

Soon-Nam Lee, Vice President of the Overseas Marketing Group, Kia Motors Corporation, commented, "The all-new Kia Sorento is among the safest models in its class and we're delighted with this latest accolade from IIHS – a highly respected vehicle safety institution. We've gone to great lengths to enhance every aspect of Sorento, with active and passive safety systems a top priority."
